In 1982, on a medical mission to the Philippines, Dr. William P. Magee Jr., a plastic surgeon, and Kathleen Magee, a nurse, couldn’t help everyone who needed them.
They returned home, rallied a community, and built something larger than a single mission.
Their creation: Operation Smile, delivering free cleft lip and palate surgery to patients in underserved regions.
