Purpose of This Call
The Operating Room Global (TORG) is seeking experienced and research-oriented grant application writers to support its expanding portfolio of global research and innovation projects.
This is a voluntary role, offering the opportunity to contribute to multinational initiatives and be actively involved in funded research projects.
Role Overview: Grant Application Writer
Type: Voluntary Role
Commitment: ~4 hours per month (flexible, remote)
Structure: Project-based, collaborative
Key Responsibilities
- Identify relevant national and international funding opportunities
- Contribute to and lead grant proposal writing
- Develop high-quality:
- Research narratives
- Concept notes
- Supporting documents
- Collaborate with TORG research teams across projects
- Ensure proposals align with funder requirements and timelines
Eligibility Criteria
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in research and academic writing
- Familiarity with research proposal development
- Strong understanding of global health, surgical systems, or related fields
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Additional Requirement
- Applicants must include their ORCID iD, previous grant applications, and details of funded projects led in their cover letter.
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be assessed based on:
- Previous research contributions (publications, audits, projects, etc.)
- Experience in grant writing or proposal development
- Quality and clarity of written communication
- Alignment with TORG research priorities
- Ability to collaborate within global and multidisciplinary teams
