The TORG Global Education & Training Committee (GET) is a multidisciplinary global committee responsible for designing, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating high-quality education and training programmes for operating room professionals across diverse specialties and settings.

Through structured webinars, panel discussions, congress sessions, and research-linked education, the committee supports continuous professional development, strengthens patient safety, and advances perioperative and surgical systems globally.

Our Mission

To strengthen global surgical and perioperative education through accessible, evidence-based, and practice-relevant training that improves patient safety and supports workforce development across low-, middle-, and high-resource settings.

Meet the Team

Committee Members

This committee includes an international team of clinicians, educators, researchers, and operating room leaders. Members contribute to session planning, teaching, moderation, faculty engagement, evaluation, and programme delivery.

Secretariat

The GETC is supported by two Secretaries, each serving as both a Committee Member and a Secretary with defined responsibilities.

Secretary 1: Performance, Coordination and Reporting

Responsible for:

  • Monitoring and collating performance and engagement of committee members
  • Producing periodic performance reports for committee leadership
  • Creating and circulating training agendas and session outlines to speakers
  • Coordinating internal communication, meeting minutes, and action tracking

Secretary 2: Faculty and Speaker Engagement

Responsible for:

  • Coordinating communication with faculty, speakers, co-chairs, and moderators
  • Issuing invitation letters and speaker confirmations
  • Sending post-session appreciation and recognition communications
  • Supporting speaker records and faculty coordination

Time Commitment

Committee roles are voluntary with an estimated commitment of 6–8 hours per month, including participation in:

  • Monthly committee meetings
  • Support for scheduled webinars and education activities
  • Congress and special event coordination as required

Recognition

All roles are voluntary. Committee members and secretariat receive:

  • Formal yearly recognition
  • Certificates of service
  • Acknowledgement across TORG platforms
