On September 10, 2025, Chief of Surgery, Dr. Ricardo Funke, performed a laparoscopic surgery for gallbladder removal using an autonomous artificial intelligence guided camera.

The Software autonomously directed the surgical camera, without the need of a human assistant, for tracking surgeon’s tools and adjusting angles. This innovative system is part of the Levita Magnetic’s Magnetic-Assisted Robotic Surgery platform.

Dr. Funke stated “The camera was following me wherever I moved my hands and the whole process was excellent. I did it alone with the robot”
