Call for Multidisciplinary Collaborators (Co-Authorship Opportunity)

Project Title: Evaluating the Integration of Virtual Reality in Ophthalmology Surgical Training and Practice in Ireland: A Mixed-Methods Study

This is to invite multidisciplinary collaborators to join a doctoral-level, mixed-methods research project investigating the educational, clinical, and implementation impact of Virtual Reality (VR) in ophthalmology surgical training and practice in Ireland.

This project includes:

  • A Systematic Literature Review
  • Semi-Structured Interviews with national and international stakeholders
  • A Two-Round Delphi Consensus Study
  • Development of a national VR implementation framework

We welcome expressions of interest from professionals across ophthalmology and related disciplines, including but not limited to:

  • Ophthalmology Consultants & Fellows
  • Higher Specialist Trainees / Residents

  • Orthoptists & Optometrists

What Does Collaboration Involve?

Depending on expertise and interest, collaborators may:

  • Contribute to study design refinement
  • Support data collection and interpretation
  • Participate in the Delphi expert panel
  • Co-author peer-reviewed publications
  • Contribute to policy and curriculum recommendations

All accepted collaborators who meet authorship criteria will be offered co-authorship in line with ICMJE standards.
Participation is voluntary and academically credited.

Geographic Scope

Ireland-focused study with international expert collaboration welcomed.
