Restoring Hope Through Surgery: The TORG–DRC Mission Continues
From Kabare to the furthest corners of South Kivu, access to surgical care should never be a luxury, it is a fundamental right.
At the Murhesa Neurosurgical Center, we are proud to lead the ongoing TORG–DRC Free Surgical Campaign, delivering life-changing surgical care to the most vulnerable populations in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Whether treating goiters, gynecological conditions, hernias, breast nodules, or complex surgical cases, our mission remains clear:
Saving lives – one operation at a time.
A Synergy of Talent, Leadership, and Compassion
This campaign is powered by an extraordinary collaboration:
Local Expertise:
Congolese doctors and surgeons working tirelessly with resilience and commitment.
International Solidarity:
Volunteer surgeons and specialists who have traveled from the United Kingdom, Egypt, and India to stand with us.
Strategic Partnership:
The Operating Room Global (TORG), providing vital organizational support, equipment coordination, and global advocacy.
As Dr. Chris Kitumaini reminds us:
“You must have the heart; you must have the courage to put service before luxury.”

The Ongoing Free Surgical Campaign at the Murhesa Neurosurgical Center, the National Hub of The Operating Room Global (TORG) in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is more than an initiative.

Now is the time to step forward.
Operational Needs for the Next Phase
To convert waiting lists into saved lives, we urgently require:

Every contribution powers another operation.

Many common surgical conditions – hernias, abscesses, cysts, lipomas, chronic wounds, osteomyelitis, goitre, fistulae, fibroids, circumcisions, keloids, and haemorrhoids remain untreated due to limited resources and the shortage of specialist teams.

Given the high number of anticipated surgical cases, estimated at over 200 operations within two weeks, we are issuing a call for personnel, including:
