The Operating Room Global Centre for Education, Research & Innovation is inviting experienced researchers, academics, and clinicians to serve as Research Mentors within our global network.

TORG is building a strong research culture to advance surgical, perioperative, and global health knowledge. Many of our early-career researchers, students, and collaborators seek guidance in project design, academic writing, publication, and career development.

๐‘๐จ๐ฅ๐ž ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐š ๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐œ๐ก ๐Œ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐จ๐ซ

โ€ข Provide guidance and feedback on research ideas, proposals, and manuscripts.

โ€ข Offer career advice and support for young investigators.

โ€ข Supervise or co-supervise TORG-led research projects on a voluntary basis.

โ€ข Encourage research integrity, ethics, and innovation.

๐“๐ข๐ฆ๐ž ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ

โ€ข This is a voluntary role.

โ€ข Expected involvement: 2โ€“4 hours per month (virtual mentoring meetings, reviewing drafts, or project supervision support).

โ€ข Duration: typically aligned with ongoing projects (6โ€“12 months), with flexibility depending on your availability.

๐–๐ก๐จ ๐‚๐š๐ง ๐€๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ฒ?

  • Clinicians, scientists, educators, and global health professionals with a strong research background in all related disciplines.
  • Desirable qualifications: postgraduate degree (Masterโ€™s, PhD, MD, or equivalent) and at least 3 peer-reviewed publications.
  • Published authors and/or principal investigators.
  • Those passionate about capacity building, especially in low- and middle-resource settings.
